Mechanical Design Engineer

The Mechanical Design Engineer will join an innovative, dedicated team in a growing company.  The Mechanical Design Engineer will be encouraged to bring fresh ideas which improve the function, safety, manufacturability, serviceability, aesthetics, and cost of our industrial x-ray systems.

Location: Minnesota Headquarters

Areas of Responsibility

Will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Conceptual and detailed design of systems, assemblies, and components
  • Engineering documentation including BOMs, drawings, ECOs, and work instructions
  • Work with vendors to specify components and optimize DFM
  • Support Manufacturing, Field Service, Supply Chain, and Sales

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Skilled and experienced with SolidWorks and PDM
  • Understanding of Design for Manufacture, Assembly, and Serviceability
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues, management, and customers
  • Ability to work on projects demanding fast design/production cycles
  • Willing and able to travel to customer sites for meetings and site reviews
  • Self-motivated, well-organized, creative, and diligent

Additional Qualifications:

  • Understanding of industrial x-ray imaging systems and components
  • Experience with multi-axis precision motion systems
  • Ability to perform structural analysis and FEA
  • Experience with sheet metal design and fabrication
  • Ability to create renderings and animations for sales and marketing

Experience and Education

Will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Bachelor’s or Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of three years of relevant work experience

Certificates, License, Registrations

Will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Valid drivers license and ability to be insured.
  • US Citizen, Green Card holder or equivalent.
  • Valid passport and ability to travel outside of the United States.
